What to expect from PlayStation Plus in November.
My time flies when you play video games. October has certainly flew by and November is right around the corner.
Typically, November is when the holiday season really kicks into high gear for the video game industry, with many of the biggest releases of the year coming out just in time for Christmas shopping.
This year is a bit muted compared to many. However, we still have big releases to come. End of October, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 fate (the campaign is already in early access). Then in November we get headlines like God of War: Ragnarok on PS5 and Pokémon Scarlet and Violet on Nintendo Switch.
I also look forward to Tactics Ogre: Reborn, Evil West, Repentance and Warhammer 40,000: Darktide.
But what about PlayStation Plus? What will PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers get this month? Now that there are three tiers of PS Plus games – Essential, Extra and Premium – we have a lot more to look forward to each month. But for the purposes of this article, we will only discuss the Essential games.
These release on the first Tuesday of the month (usually) and are usually a total of three games for PS4 and PS5. Sony usually unveils the PS Plus Essential range on the last Wednesday of the month.
This means we should get an official announcement next Wednesday October 26th with the games available to subscribers on Tuesday November 1st (a fun treat after a night of pranks or treats the night before!)
October PS Plus leaks and rumors
Just like last month and most of 2022, there were no leaks, credible or otherwise, to report. If that changes, I’ll update this post. For October, the games were actually leaked just hours before the official announcement.
I haven’t heard any rumours, either, and there’s no obvious possibility (like a PlayStation exclusive releasing November 1, or a cross-platform game that you mysteriously can’t pre-order on PlayStation releasing that day. ).
Which leaves us with predictions and wishful thinking. But it can also be fun!
PS Plus October Predictions
As I noted above, there really isn’t anything coming out on November 1, so we can say with certainty that not everything we get next month will be a new release. It’s pretty typical.
But there aren’t really any new releases that could give us any clues either. Sometimes a new game in a series comes out soon and it’s a good chance for Sony to release an older game in the franchise to get people interested in the new game.
So what makes sense for November without real clues? I keep thinking we’ll see Sackboy Adventures since it’s a PS5 exclusive that’s been out for a while. I also keep thinking that we will have Star Wars: Fallen Order of the Jedi one of these days.
So there is Resident Evil 2 Remake, which was a pretty phenomenal game and for three resident Evil games are headed to Nintendo Switch over the next two months—Resident Evil 2 Cloud, Resident Evil 3 Cloud and Resident Evil Biohazard Cloud—now might be a good time to give away the game for free to PS Plus subscribers.
As for my wishlist, I have a few titles in mind:
- Sifu
- underworld
- Alan Wake
- Resident Evil Village
- The devil may cry 5
- Deny automata
- Cuphead
- Kena: Bridge of Spirits
