PlayStation Plus free games for June 2022 are absolutely massive

PlayStation has just announced a massive list of free games that subscribers to the new, revamped PlayStation Plus service will be able to get their hands on when the service launches in June, and they’re amazing.

Reception for the planned revamp has been mixed, to say the least, but these titles are sure to win the idea over to some fans. Since Red Dead Redemption 2 for marvel’s Spider Manthere’s a huge selection of first-party and third-party titles, many of which are completely new to PlayStation’s subscription services.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is sure to be a popular download when it hits the revamped PS Plus service – take a look at some of our favorite wins and misses from the game below.

Some of the highlights include:

  • transmitted by blood
  • Marvel’s Spiderman
  • Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  • Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
  • Red Dead Redemption 2
  • Celestial
  • Demon’s Souls
  • NBA 2K22
  • The Last of Us Remastered
  • Horizon Zero Dawn
  • God of the war
  • Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut
  • Return
  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
  • Outer Wildlands

Now, the key thing to keep in mind here is that these freebies will only be available to Extra and Premium tier subscribers – those who stick with the Essential plan (which is basically the exact same thing we have now, with access to online services and monthly free games) will be missing. So if you want to jump in, that monthly price is going to go up quite significantly, from £6.99 to £10.99, or even £13.49 if you decide to jump in and go Premium.

Speaking of Premium, don’t think we’ve forgotten about those classic titles. We now have a list of those too – here are some of the top picks.

  • Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Loot
  • Ratchet & Clank: A Crack in Time
  • Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus
  • Jak and Daxter: The Legacy of the Forerunners
  • Bioshock Remastered
  • Infamous
  • Borderlands: the beautiful collection

Chances are, if you’ve been a loyal PlayStation user for a while now, you’ve probably played a lot of these games, in which case, that kinda sucks being you. However, there’s a veritable treasure trove of titles here – there’s almost certainly going to be something you haven’t tried before.

We don’t have long to wait for the service to launch – it will land in the US on June 13 and in Europe on June 23.
