Here are the free Amazon Prime Gaming games for August 2022

If you can believe it, we are already at the end of July. Although this year seems to pass, there is at least some good news. A new month means there are new games to claim from various subscription services (they aren’t “free” per se, since you pay a monthly fee).

Let’s no longer beat around the bush. Here are the games Amazon Prime Gaming members can snag in August:

  • StarCraft: Remastered
  • Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders
  • Beasts of Maravilla Island
  • Recompile
  • Scourgebringer
  • Family Mysteries: Poisoned Promises

StarCraft: Remastered is clearly the headliner this month, but some of the other titles look interesting as well. I can’t believe I hadn’t heard Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders so far. It’s a 1988 point-and-click adventure from LucasArts that I absolutely have to check out.

Beasts of Maravilla Island looks like a relaxing photography game, while Recompile is a neat Metroidvania with a focus on hacking. Scourgebringer is a roguelite platform game and Family Mysteries: Poisoned Promises is a hidden object game. It looks like there’s a little something for everyone this month. If you have a Prime membership and a fairly decent gaming PC, it all seems worth checking out via the Prime Gaming website.

You’ll also get freebies for a ton of major games in August, such as Fall Guys, Call of Duty, New World, Dead by Daylight and Elder Scrolls Online.

Amazon refreshes the lineup of games on the Luna Prime Game Channel every month, and there are also at least two absolute bangers in August. The features of the range Control: Ultimate Edition, Myst, Garfield Kart and Steel Assault. You can play it at no additional cost if you are a Prime member.
