It also means that there are only a few days left to get the September games, which include Overcooked: all you can eat (PS5), Hitman 2 (PS4), and Predator: Hunting grounds (PS4). If for some reason someone was waiting until the last minute to claim those PS Plus titles, it officially happened then.
Their replacements include WW2 Shooter Hell let loose for PS5, as well as Mortal Kombat X and PGA 2K21 Tour for PS4. While these games can be a bit on the nose, here’s what curious subscribers should know about them.
PS Plus Free Game for October 2021 – Hell Let Loose (PS5)
This WWII-based first-person shooter simulates the scale and tactics of some of the war’s greatest conflicts. There are 50v50 battles and several squads / roles players can take on in the game, with the commander also introducing elements of real-time strategy through resource acquisition and distribution. Current game modes focus on capture and control gameplay, with one of its biggest draws being its incredibly detailed maps. Omaha Beach, Hill 400, Stalingrad, Kursk and many more are all included, designed and based on their real-world counterparts through satellite imagery, historic aerial photography, and street-level recreation. Each card uses them to a different extent, of course, but they’re as accurate as any game could be.
PS Plus Free Game for October 2021 – Mortal Kombat X (PS4)
Mortal Kombat X is the middle of the game in the latest story of the brutal combat franchise. This is the sequel to 2011 Mortal combat and comes before Mortal Kombat 11, most recent entry into the franchise. While it’s pretty obvious, this is a 1v1 PvP or CPU fighting game that focuses on hardcore combos, strong attacks, and more. Its story mode focuses on Shinnok, his amulet, and the fate of Earthrealm, taking around 6 hours to beat. Overall, such a game is defined by its list, with Mortal Kombat X ‘s the playable characters being pretty solid — 24 launch characters, 9 DLC (and featuring a few horror characters for the season.)
PS Plus Free Game for October 2021 – PGA Tour 2K21
PGA 2K21 Tour is an incredibly complete golf simulator. It has all the attributes of not just a game of golf, but a good game. Players can embrace the career mode, with the goal of becoming the FedExCup champion while playing alongside PGA Tour pros such as Justin Thomas. Several courses are inspired by real courses, but players can still design and customize their character as they wish, as well as create custom courses as they wish. Indeed, PGA 2K21 Tour offers all the options everyone would need, base game changes, rule changes, board games and flags tailored to player standards.
