Xbox Live Gold subscribers have likely signed up for Microsoft’s subscription service to take advantage of online multiplayer features, but there are other benefits to consider as well. In addition to online multiplayer access and discounts, an Xbox Live Gold membership gives users four free games every month, including two from the Xbox One library and two more from the Xbox 360 library.
Microsoft likes to release Xbox Free Games with Gold throughout the month, making two titles available at the start of the month and two more available in the middle of the month. As for Xbox Free Games with Gold Games for the middle of the month, they are officially supposed to be available on the 16th, but games are often offered a day in advance. That’s the case with Xbox Free Games with Gold Games for July 2022, with subscribers now able to grab two more games from the lineup a day ahead of schedule.
From now until August 15, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim a first-person puzzle game Relic. Diabloaction-RPG style dungeon crawler Torchlightmeanwhile, is available to Xbox Live Gold subscribers through July 31. Beasts of Maravilla Island remains one of the free games subscribers can claim until July 31, while Thrillville: Off the Rails will still be available for another day for those who wish to claim it for their collection.

Microsoft has been giving away four free Games with Gold games every month since the Xbox One launched in 2013, but that’s going to change in the relatively near future. It was recently announced that September 2022 Free Games with Gold will mark the last time Xbox 360 games will be included in the lineup. Starting in October, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will only be entitled to two free Xbox One games per month.
It was really only a matter of time, and some might be surprised that it took Microsoft this long to phase out Xbox 360 free games with Gold games. Even more fans might be surprised that Xbox Live Gold hasn’t been completely phased out at this point. After all, Microsoft is clearly focusing its full attention on its Xbox Game Pass subscription service, with an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription including all the benefits of Game Pass plus everything Xbox Live Gold offers.
Rumors persisted that Microsoft was getting rid of Xbox Live Gold, but for now, subscribers can still expect free games every month.
